Last night playing softball I pulled a quad trying to leg out a double. It felt like a rubber band just popped or like a muscle rolled over a bone. A strange feeling but I immediately went down like a bag of bricks. Today I'm sore as hell. Guess I need to realize I'm no longer in my 20's.

It happened so fast that now I don't remember if I heard a pop or just felt a pop. I do know that it felt like it was mid-way down my leg, but today it is sore on the top inner 1/2 of my thigh. It is sore to touch, but no visible sign of bruising, but I guess that tissue is so deep that I might not be able to see it anyway.
Mr.I it happened w/10 minutes left in the game & I'd already ran the bags 3x, but it was chilly meaning I could've been cooling down faster than I realized.

Was there any burning? I tore my quad (the upper inner one) almost in half. it is holding on by a string. The rest kinda balled up at the top of my quads. looks freaky. I love flexing it when stripers are giving me lap dances.lolOriginally posted by SonofBone View PostIt happened so fast that now I don't remember if I heard a pop or just felt a pop. Yeah, it burned. I thought I was going to get sick a minute or two after it happened. Now, it has a sort of burning and charlie horse feeling up high when curl my ankle a little too high.
It does burn when I even attempt to stretch it or walk normally, so I'm just trying to walk stiff legged.

Truth is I don't care to a degree. My other quad is already atrophied from a knee injury, so I'm not going to be any sort of competitive bodybuilder. Also, don't care to have a costly MRI and surgery to confirm/fix it.
The only way I'd probably be really concerned would be if it were so catastrophic that I wouldn't be able to walk or if I had compartment syndrome or something like that but I'm pretty sure neither of those is the case.
Does the fact that you tore yours impact your ability to kick or run?

No effect on anything that I can tell. I run fast for my size and kick pretty hard. when squating both legs are the same strength (as far as I can tell)Originally posted by SonofBone View PostTruth is I don't care to a degree. My leg looks pretty bad , it seriously looks like it is held on by a string compared to the rest of my leg. A doc once told me it was a level 4 tear what ever that means. he told me it meant bad.lol.
Side note I tore mine playing softball also. funny thing was it never stopped me kept playing weeek after week. (im a tuff guy, lol)
