  • NHL first night...

Well, I called Hawks, Devils, and Devils/Bruins over 5.

    2 wins and a push ain't bad!

Gong, I hope you played the picks I gave you, which were a win and a push, and got your 'penny' back :D

      AAAHH! Damn...

It's easy...you go either puckline or moneyline...it's really similar to football. Puckline is the same as the pointspread (a team may be +/- 1/2 goal, a goal, or 1 1/2 goal to adjust odds), where moneyline is the same in both sports (pick the winner, pays out less than twice what you bet on a favorite, or more than twice your bet on a dog...in varying degrees).

it's not exactly straight-up with the spread, as there is less precise control for the book they still have an adjusted moneyline with pucks on most bets (occasionally it will make the bet a pick)...but you can get a heavy favorite to pay better if you predict a win by more than a goal, or concede the push on a tie, ect....

Lines from wherever I happen to be betting. Canbet has em all...but display them a little different. Instead of saying -140, for example, they give you the odds as a multiplier of your bet, like 1.60. You get back your original bet, plus .6 times your bet if you win. If the odds are 2.00, that means you get double what you wager (same as +200). it's easy

BTW...I love Senators tomorrow, even though payoff isnt' great, at -.5 goals (1.54). They should hammer the Canadiens, especially with Koivu out of the lineup.

For a small bet longshot, I like Buffalo as a dog.

For a strong dog, I like Columbus a lot, given the Thrashers being without Heatley and grieving.

I dread another long betting year for me with hockey. i had such a financially tough one last year. i might be riding your coattails on your puck picks this year hitman.

Well...I'm not some infallable guru...but...I am CANADIAN, so I think that gives me some sort of advantage when it comes to hockey.
