  • Bouncer home theater speaker question

I am moving to a new house and I can not use my floor standing Monitor Audio speakers any more. I was looking at in ceiling speakers and I have no clue what is good or not? the guy was showing me some Klipsch which of coarse sounds good there but who knows when its in my roof?

Im not expecting them to even come close to my Monitor Audio in sound but I want it to at least sound good. you have any clue about them?

Thiel PowerPoint 1.2 Ceiling Speaker System is highly recommended (as it should for the price) but you don't seem to be short on that, lol.

you should always go to a place that carries the setup you are thinking of buying and give them a listen. some people love klipsch and others hate the horn technology.

kind of like a car bro, you have to test them out first.

My favorite brand both because of good price and quality sound is polk. check them out and see if they have something that can work for you. i have polk speakers for my home theater. little book shelf speakers, center channel and a 10 inch polk sub. you would be blown away by how powerful it sounds.

Home Audio available from Polk Audio

How did you know that bose is my favorite? lmao
Just because I don't post about stereo stuff here doesn't mean I don't know about sound. Besides my personal training I really do install TVs and sound system on the side. I am helping a client of mine at the moment who actually is a pro sound guy to install a full home theater system with ATC speakers which I am sure you never heard of because they are very high end, they cost around 15k a piece for a mid size. So like I said for an average room just get any half way decent speaker and good powered sub and you'll be ok (remeberthey are all made in china :D ok except the ATC) just make sure you get a good powerful receiver to go with it, receiver is more important. Oh also don't waste your money on expensive ass cables either just get some good old speaker wires and you are in business. Also I am more about sound and not much about TVs so if you have any TV questions can't help you much with that sorry.
And on a quick note if you gonna get a new receiver make sure it has HDMI inputs on the back of it it'll make your life whole lot easier in the future.

                          Thanks for the input!
If I got this right Amp is most important over the speakers? I already have a decent reciever Denon 38??
I was thinking a Center channel was most important.(for movies)
Can you list in order of importance. (in case I have to be cheap I want to be cheap on the least important stuff)

Well the way it goes is Center is for voice only, sub is for low end like explosions and stuff like that rear speakers are for sounds that travel front to back or back to front like planes or cars going by so you can even get a small pair for that and front speakers where most everything happens so you wanna get a medium size speakers for that. oh and while I am thinking about it where you sit is also important you wanna have your couch as centered as possible to get the optimum sound effects, also are you going to use the same system for listening music in stereo mode too?
                            And check pm bro.

a decent denon will power most speakers. you want the center and fronts to match. cant have polk center and mirage fronts for example.
