I like to echo the above posts. Being a first generation immigrant, I don't have any family history in the US armed forces, but I do have close family especially on my wife's side who have served and currently serve in the Indian Army and Navy, so best wishes to them as well!

Much respect to all the men and women of the Armed Forces. I have many family members that served and my little brother is leaving in December for the Air Force.

          Thanks to all of you!

Full respect to them all, most of us haven't got a clue what it was like living in those times and the few that do are probably serving in the middle east, without them we may not be here.

WW II vet held in Nazi slave camp breaks silence: 'Let it be known' - CNN.com

A great story about the sacrifices of soldiers during WWII.

problem now is, they are sacrificing for nothing. sad to say but its true. the current "war" is a bush/cheney fucking mess.

Fortunately, many of them disagree with you.

Don't do that to them in a thread about the vets. It is so discouraging. I know.

nobody at war is reading this thread.

even so, just because it is discouraging does not mean it isn't true.
