I found it to be sort of mellowing - BUT I didn't drink a ton of it. I don't care for the taste enough to do that.

Does it have thujone in it? Some mixes do and some don't. Thujone is the compound that is said to produce hallucinations (which most people say they just feel a more lucid drunk feeling).

Sort of. It's more about getting to try an authentic drink from Europe. I tried it and I didn't have any hallucinations.

Yes, a good friend of mine in the military use to drink the hell out of it and would have it imported from his family in Holland. I thought it was disgusting. He went through the whole ritual with the sugar cube such. I can't say I actually hallucinated, but it does put you into a completely different state of mind that if you drank enough you definitely feel reality altered.

I didn't get the whole ritual thing either. I tried it and the I just tried stirring the sugar in and it tasted the same. Not my favorite drink, but I am glad I tried it just to kind of complete a life experience. The drunk feeling almost reminds me of one you get when drinking red bull and vodka.

My wife is from Poland and her mom sent it too me. I just found the website to show what I got. If you want to order it, I'm sure there are safe places to in Europe. You could even ask your local spirits distributor for a reputable place over seas.
