It snowed a couple of inches here in Portland a few days ago with temperatures staying well below freezing and it has been complete chaos - cars abandoned by the side of the roads, schools closed for the last 3 days. This happens once every couple of years when it actually gets cold enough for the snow to persist on the roads and as a midwesterner, it is really frustrating to see how the west coasters get petrified with just a few sprinkles.
