  • Anyone read 'The Secret'?

You guys know I am not much of a reader. My mom gave me this book a year or so ago and I never read it. Started reading it the other day and wow, pretty good book IMO. Its all about how your thoughts shape your life. I really wouldn't be much into something like this if I hadn't already experienced it a million times before. You know how you go to work or the gym or anywhere and you are in a great mood, people tend to feed off that great mood and it just turns into a great day. On the other hand, if you are feeling down, people will feed of that and might make comments that you don't like etc, and it turns into a bad day.

One of the key comments in the book is, "it is imposable to feel bad and at the same time have good thoughts." If you feel bad it is because you are thinking about bad or negative things and more bad things will come to you.

You guys know I am not into hocus pocus type stuff and I am not a religious guy. This book just makes sense. Its stuff we already know but this book brings it into focus and shows you how to really apply it. Its kind of exciting to know that no matter what, you control your thoughts and you can change your mood.

Give it a read if you have some time.

Sort of like The Power of NOW. Positive thinking, etc. I'm not into self-help books either, but I started reading that at a very low point in life and found that much of it makes sense if you're willing to put forth the effort to stay optimistic, etc.

yup, its just positive thinking. but like you said, you need to be willing to put forth the effort.

i have been doing it the last few days an d i really do feel better. i tend to judge people and see the bad in things. i have been actively catching myself and changing the thought process and i tell ya, it works. take away the ugly thoughts and it just brightens your day.

yea, i cant get into the religious stuff.

that kind of thing is too "hocus pocus" for me.

just like with anything though, i am sure there is a good message in what he is saying.

              In your opinion...

I really just meant that I don't want to read a book that's based upon God, etc.
