  • mac vs pc

i'm thinking about switching over to a mac. are they worth the extra $? or is it basically preference? i'm stupid when it comes to shit like this, but i heard mac's don't get viruses very easily and are way more user friendly. i'm not a gamer in case your wondering. my computer is used for the internet and music basically.

i have several PC's, Tablet, and Notebooks. I just got an iMac 20-inch: 2.66GHz fucking kicks ass. I should have got the 22 or 24"

mac isn't what they used to be. do a search on google for "mac problems" etc..

in their quest to become mainstream they have become more like microsoft.

I use both and I prefer Mac. As far as problems I haven't had any. It's very rare.

i understand all computers are going to have their problems, but i'm just frustrated with my computer starting to slow down already. my brother has a 4 year old mac that hasn't slowed down at all, and i've had my pc for 7 months and it's started to slow down already. i run avg everyday and i'm cautious with what i download, so i just figured pc's aren't made as well.

how much memory do you have installed? what operating system are you running?

have you run a disk cleanup and disk defrag?

There is so much crap and spyware that gets downloaded that you don't even know about. Alot of this stuff cannot be picked up by those spyware apps and they bog the shit out of your PC. What's great about macs is that this shit can't make it onto your computer to slow it down.

you know how many times i have had to do that with my IMAC in the last few years? ZERO..... they just run better than Windows computers for me. I am going to buy a dell again soon just for gaming but the average life of mine in the past was like a year before they started konking out.

this is exactly what i mean, but i had no idea what actually slowed it down. any way to get rid of it besides wiping out my whole hard drive?
