  • quick question about jobs

Well now that i graduated college, pretty depressed that it is all over. I now have to enter the working world which to me means:
    no more scheduled naps
no more eating every 2 hours
not being able to to go the gym when I want
having high stress levels and dealing with asshole people
and my whole workout and diet plan falling apart and turning into a fat ass lol

Basically my question is I'd like to hear from some people working in the corporate world and how they get the food in they need and how to get to the gym everyday like im used to.

Congrats on finishing school! you'll figure it out but heres some obvious suggetions...
your going to have to plan ahead and cook chicken, beef, fish and rice in bulk (rice cooker) store in in tupper ware containers in a cooler and use a microwave. shop at Coscos or SAMs club.

some ppl go to the gym during their lunch break or b4 work and/or utilize the weekeds when they dont work... depends on what you do for a living.

Im pretty much in the same boat as you bro. Recently graduated this December. Pretty much means entering the working world. Especially the jobs I want meaning rotating shifts..

Ive done fulltime jobs before. You get used to it. I first started off by taking protein bars and shakes to work. From there, I built awesome friends ships with co-workers and supervisors that they knew I was into bodybuilding. They eventually didnt mind me eating every few hours. I would end up taking tuna or chicken breasts, etc...

You just get adjusted to it and make time for everything. It will turn out good.

This is my first year in the corporate world out of college. There is always going to be a certain time frame during the day which you have free. You are just going to have to recognize it and get there every day at that time.

Believe it or not, I have found that resisting the peer pressure to go out and drink is harder in the corporate world than it was in school. I have been doing good. (I allow myself to drink once a week.)

Other than that, being single as opposed to being in a committed relationship has made it 100 times easier to get to the gym when I'm supposed to, school or no school.

But it really is all about planning. Realizing that you are going to be more tired now, and if you give yourself the opportunity to sit down and watch that little bit of TV when you get home from work, odds are you won't cook that chicken that you were supposed to cook.

I'm 4 years out of school and honestly, I find it easier to maintain a schedule and routine now that I'm working than when I was in school. Being able to go to the gym whenever I wanted made it easy to assume there'd be time later or that I could put it off. Now, I know there is only one time a day I can get to the gym, so I have to go. It's very structured.

I still eat whenever I want, and everyone in my office knows it. They know that if they schedule a meeting with me during meal times, I will be eating. I've also made arrangements to come in at 8 and leave at 4 (rather than 9-5) so I can get to the gym at a reasonable time.

I bulk cook and weigh out meat on Sundays.

I'm married and though my spouse doesn't share a bb lifestyle, she knows that it's important to me and doesn't ever sabotage or interfere with it. One of the things that helps us is that I give her the weekends and also that we don't have tv...so when I do get home from the gym in the evening, we actually have a conversation over dinner rather than ignoring each other while watching the tube. (I do miss football though...). She also knows not to plan things for the middle of the week or early on Firday nights. Of course, a long time ago, when we first started dating, I told her that I won't miss the gym for anyone, as it is too important to me. She decided she could deal with that and here we are 8 years later.

If you go into the working world convinced it is going to suck, it will. I actually like working... I can afford better quality protein now...lol.

Ideally you should still be able to eat about every 2 hours. By law if you work at least 8 hours you are allowed two 15min breaks and 1hr for lunch. Now again "ideally" those breaks should come about every 2 hours. Now depending on the job you have and the company you work for will determine how strict of flexible those breaks are. There might be social/work pressure to work through your breaks or lunch, but you don't have too. It's something you will have to evaluate when you get there.

Well everything sounds reassuring I will have my own office if I get the job so maybe I would put a microwave and mini fridge in their and just eat as a go along, screw if corporate world doesnt workout I can allows go back to construction, And yeah that is the one thing I am pumped about working is I do not have to worry about how to pay for all my food.
