A macro econ course. The professor walks in, and begins speaking in Spanish. The class is taught in spanish. I was utterly confused. I walked out, as did 15 of the 19 students

No. The section was called S1. The S stands for spanish. New thing this year. Shit happens. I was simply stunned when the professor started in spanish.Comment

The book was in english by the way. I returned it they asked why did i drop the class. I told them it was in spanish. They then asked me why the book is in english. Universities confound me sometimes.,Comment

I think that people applying for immigrant (and refugee status for that matter) should have to sign a pledge to learn english as quickly as possible. After four years, they should be required to take a test in english proficiency; I'm not talking about college level language skills, but functional everyday english to get by in life. If they don't pass the test, they (and any kids they may have) get shipped back to wherever the fuck they came from, because at that point it becomes clear that they have no intentions of assimilating into our culture. If you check the web, you will find numerous stories about Spain, riots, and its riot police. An immingrant was killed, and they rioted. A peaceful protest occured I beleive last year, they brought riot police out, and that didn't turn out well. Riots seems to be the answer for much in spainOriginally posted by radoComment
