what's the excuse for black women? :dunno:Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postwhile i agree with you 100%, as stupid as he sounds, he may have an unintentional point. that point is tied to hormone levels. statistically, black men have much higher "aggressive hormones" such as testosterone then other races. now there are a million other different factors, just point out something.

Liberals? Haha, what a joke. What freaking school does your daughter attend that Muslim extremists are going to target it? It's a rather well known fact that Muslim extremists make us targets larger and more prominent than a school recital. Besides, like I typed, and if you had read...it wasn't the inital action that I have an issue with. It was you attitude following it.Originally posted by bigscott View Postliberals :hang:
maybe he was making sure his kid had the bombs strapped to himself correctly so they went off when he hit the detonator :drunk:

be surprised at what? the fact that you would talk in a downward tone to someone? i am all for a debate and i respect that you would stick to your guns etc.. but i promise you, if you spoke in the tone in which you come across on this forum, we would definitely have some problems. you can disagree with me all you want, i don't have a problem in the world with that. but talk down to me.. nope, cant live with that.Originally posted by NewbieChris View Post

Citing statistics can be misleading. Asking yourself why the statistic occurs in the manner it does is the real way to reduce the problem the statistic is representing. There is more than one contributing factor to every crime, terrorist event, or event. You need to find a coefficient for every factor and weigh it accordingly. Americans need to be more awarethat people who strap bombs to themselves have a different intention that those who come to America to perform acts of terror.Originally posted by decadecadeca View PostYou are clearly letting emotion dictate over reason. I never specified domestic terrorism because the leading group for those acts are ALF and ELF. I said acts of terrorism against our nation in total which includes all US interests both wihtin the CONUS and abroad.

I read a study once that said the majority of wife abusers are husbands.
Seriously guys, he was concerned with his child. He did what he thought was right to protect his family. On the same hand, he needs to think about the example he is setting for his child. It goes both ways. There is no real right or wrong here. Tolerance is needed, but so is security. The question is how to balance the two. Everyone will have their own opinion based on the situationLast edited by alwaysgrowing; 01-28-09, 04:36 PM.

I don't know what to tell you. I think its a stupid way to feel in that situation and the evidence shows that it is a misconception. If you think that is talking down to someone maybe you wouldn't be surprised.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postbe surprised at what? the fact that you would talk in a downward tone to someone? i am all for a debate and i respect that you would stick to your guns etc.. but i promise you, if you spoke in the tone in which you come across on this forum, we would definitely have some problems. you can disagree with me all you want, i don't have a problem in the world with that. but talk down to me.. nope, cant live with that.

The only thing that matters is perception. I can see his point of view. Worst case scenario is not pretty. It is highly unlikely, but worrisome none the less. I don't have children (nor do i plan to ever have them), so i have no idea what was going through his head. Once you are a parent, your life becomes the child's life. He felt his daughter was threatened, so he did what he beleived was right. That is all that matters for him, what he beleives. Who are you or me to judge him for what he did when he felt his daughter's life was threatened.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostI don't know what to tell you. On the other hand, it could set a negative example by teaching his daughter intolerance. But he has to balance the example versus his daughter's safety. In his mind her safety far outweighs setting an example. You were not in his situation, you have not lived his life, you don't know what he has been through. So don't judge. You are jumping to conclusions right now as you beleive he did then. Keep an open mund and try to see his point of view. You will be surprised what you can learn when you step back from the situation and look at it objectively,

Thank youOriginally posted by FitnessBrat View PostGreat post.
And chris, I recall one time while you were at school your car got banged up in the parking lot. So you made s sweeping generalization that all college students can't drive. So you parked outside the lines, and paid the price for it in form of a ticket. Explain how the concept there is different from what Scott did. He genralized, did something about his genralization, and "paid" for it by the guy being disgusted. Underneath it all, there is not much of a difference. You were trying to protect your car, he was protecting his daughter.
