  • newbie question do steriods cause depression and aggression?

i ask this question because i want to know, after 6 months usage there have been some changes in the mood of this person i know and they have been telling me it is not cause of the steriods. Please note i am new to this and know nothing about this stuff what so ever... i just wanna know personally for myself and my mate. any feedback would be great.

anytime you manipulate hormones you will run the risk of changing moods, causing depression etc..

Treading on shaky grounds answering a question like that....

EVERYONE reacts differently to different chemicals/compounds. They are not an excuse to be aggressive, and they can cause very serious depression.

its one of those things that's hard to answer because i don't know the details in this case. these sides usually go away once the drug is stopped. but depending on how unstable he is, may get worse. it effects people in different ways. i am personally much calmer and nicer to people while on steroids.

really? I was thinking from the start that once he had gotten used to them he would be fine.. but 6 months on should be enough time right? he's gf is getting afraid about how this would end up and no matter what anyone says even he's doc he won't stop

The key for me is in achieving stable hormone levels that arn't too high.

If I was to take 500mg of test enanthate a week or even every 5 days I feel great. But people have to find whats right for them. First things first they should learn as much about what they are taking as possible, how the different steroids have slightly different effects such as how fast they are released in and out of your system.

Your friend probably has one overwhelming goal that convinced him to take steroids in the first place; to get bigger stronger and they are seemingly putting all other issues to the back of their importance list. One thing steroids make easy is channelling the mind and blocking out other issues in your life in favour of your training. This is one of their benefits to the athelete but clearly there are downsides, like your life outside training.

If your friend won't stop using then the best thing you can do is help him learn as much as possible about the substances he uses, underground anabolic steroid handbooks are easy to come by and they clearly state which steroids make you more agressive etc a clear acknowledgement that they do!

The thing is you have to train with agression, intense focus and determinatio to make gains so this all helps the athelete, then you have to put effort into your food preperation etc

One last thing, this is your friends choice in life, in many ways its in the persuit of bettering himself and its not as if he's achcoholic or on meth, steroids don't inmy view cause long term life threatening problems, unless your diet is real bad, but they can make some people ignorant obtuse and agressive, his choice at the end of the day and he has to live with the consequences and and losses as a result

he has been on for 6 months straight??

far too long. average steroid cycles are 2-3 months. stay on too long and you can damage your body and permanently lower hormone levels.
