not true in all cases. i have seen a guy having a full blown mi sitting there talking to us. and what they did possibly could have save the mans life, by putting him on his side like that they were able to maintain his airway whch is #1 priority. and as far as cpr not to sound heartless but if my man was pukin blood sorry you aint gettin cpr from me unless i got a bag.

I was rather certain it was not a serious panic attack. I was stressed out by my boss yesterday, it was just the weirdest thing. I've experienced something like this in a mild way before, but I think everyone has been right.
Bigfella, panic attacks are caused generally by the sub concious. In my case it wasn't seeing him, but hearing who it was. We are both 24 and he is. Theere was another trigger but it is too long and detailed to type out on my phone. Alltogether I don't believe I am extremely negative, I just try to be realistic in realizing things that can happen. So, I don't think it was that.
Shibby, the paramedics were there when his heart stopped. He was on his side before that. I honestly don't have a 100% understanding of what occured. That was just to place you where I was to aide in my story.
He told me he is okay, and the hospital is releasing him today. All said yesterday was crazy.

His heart was stopped and he wasn't just feeling the symptoms of and MI coming? I think there is a lot of confusion between the symptoms and the actual stopping of the heart. No beating heart, it doesn't matter if you can breath. No oxygen is getting to your brain. Brain death occurs pretty rapidly. This is where I find it hard to believe the guy was talking. Maybe I'm the one very confused here :dunno:.Originally posted by BIGFELLA View Postnot true in all cases. i have seen a guy having a full blown mi sitting there talking to us. and what they did possibly could have save the mans life, by putting him on his side like that they were able to maintain his airway whch is #1 priority. and as far as cpr not to sound heartless but if my man was pukin blood sorry you aint gettin cpr from me unless i got a bag.
To touch on another point, if the heart stopped, you can still do chest compression even if your not comfortable with administering respiration.

The confusion comes from the fact thatbi don't know the story 100%. It was merely to set up for my question. Don't read too much into it. If the curiousity is killing you I'll post the entire story when I find out.Originally posted by Shibby View PostHis heart was stopped and he wasn't just feeling the symptoms of and MI coming? when the medic told me what was really goin on after the fact i would have never believed it myself. i see your point but if your blood isnt carrying any o2 to your brain there is no point for a heart beat. not sure how familiar you are with any ems but thats why they teach abc's (airway, breathing, circulation). cause basicly if you dont have an airway the other 2 dont much matter.Originally posted by Shibby View PostHis heart was stopped and he wasn't just feeling the symptoms of and MI coming? My response was too Bigfella, hence quoting him, but there is a larger point for you Chris. Having any kind of panic or anxiety attack could be partly due to you over dramatizing in your head what happened. You could be right but letting your worse fears consume you will consume you.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostThe confusion comes from the fact thatbi don't know the story 100%. I was talking to a cop one time who told me a crazy story. Apparently there was this 250 lb monster all hopped up on speed, a LOT of speed. They tried to wrestle the handcuffs onto him. 6 of him couldnt get this guy to the ground. He started beating the shit out of one guy, so they had to shoot him. They shot him 3 times in the chest, and HE KEPT FIGHTING! So finally they shot him square between the eyes. The guy looked up and said "that was a good one", and then fell over dead. CRAZY!
(I realize that has nothing to do with this thread at all, but that story is fucking nuts!)

Like I said it has to do with my work. I feel stuck and I really dislike many aspects of my job. This has been building up for a while, I agree with what you are saying.Originally posted by Shibby View PostMy response was too Bigfella, hence quoting him, but there is a larger point for you Chris. Next time instead of worrying about what it could have been, find out first and then take it from there.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostLike I said it has to do with my work.
