  • T minus 28 days....

Until the new addition blesses our family. My pregnancy has been really good up to this point....aside from the unbelievable edema in my hands & feet & the inability to get more than 3 hrs of sleep at a time...(I'm usually up 2-3 times to pee)...However- Rado- this one's for you- I can see why your wife opted to not have anymore of her own children. The last 4-5 weeks are really a struggle, and take an enormous toll on a woman. Not saying that I agree with voluntary sterilization, but I can understand a little better why she made that choice.

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately, but I go home at night, and elevate my legs & feet. Surprisingly, I also changed jobs in the midst of all this craziness...closer to my house, better pay & benefits...and they hired me at 7 1/2 months pregnant! How crazy is that? As you all know we put our Rott down right after Christmas...Our other dog was really mopey & depressed, so to add to all of the craziness, we rescued a cute little puggle....

It hasn't been as happy of a time as it could be....Sonis still hasn't found full time work, so it's been a bit of struggle trying to prepare for the baby & make our monthly obligations...Thank God he has his training & nutrition on the side, otherwise we would be sunk. Unemployment per month pays half the mortgage & our boat payment.....I don't know how we are making it, but we are! Sonis is really stressed...I've read that the one thing men stress about the most when they have a child on the way, is being able to provide for it. And, with no job, it's making it pretty difficult on him.

I'll be happy when this baby is out & sonis has a job. I know it won't be a relaxing time, but at least those will be major things that will allow us to move forward. Everything just feels so unstable & unpredictable right now...

I don't know when the baby is going to come out, I'd prefer it to be tomorrow! She's up to about 6 1/2 lbs right now. & I'm still on the fence about getting a C Section....I'm really leaning toward it, but then I think about the scar....then I think about all of these stories about women having to get cut, and needing 6 months to heal, and I go back to getting a C. I figure if I've had a boob job, then I can handle a C section. Ahh, yes- the boobs....I wonder how those puppies are going to look after all of this. I DO plan to breastfeed, but only for about 6 weeks.

    ...Now you have my update!

What do you mean "talk"? There really little I can do to help alleviate it. I mean, I'm trying to be as positive as possible and keep saying it will work out, but the closer the baby gets, the more stressed he gets. He said he's had a headache from the stress for about the past 2 weeks....and he doesn't get headaches. His whole focus is trying to find his next dollar....not going to the gym really, not eating well, etc.

Glad to hear you're doin well. All your problems will seem to go away once you have the baby. Get the c-section. Better for the kids head in the long run, won't end up being an egg head.

if I can put my 5 cents in I would go with the vaginal birth. Did it twice, had an episiotomy first time around, got slight tear the second, but in both cases everything heals very fast, I think for me it was a matter of 2 weeks to stop feeling discomfort. C section is a surgery...scar and pain and not being able to fully sit up for many hours....plus breastfeeding may be difficult to start after C. Many of my friends after C section couldn't put the baby in and out of the crib because it caused a huge pain in the scar /cut area.
If there is something wrong with the natural delivery and the docs see that you struggle, they will help you. So please don't be afraid and think what would be better for you and the baby. Recovery usually takes longer after C section.

I really just can't get over the physical toll & how exhausted I am by 5pm everyday.

Yeah, see- I'm not all about my "business" getting totally destroyed. I have a real hard time believing it feels the same once it goes back to "normal".

magdalena- every friend of mine who has had an episiotomy says it takes a LONG time to heal...way more than a couple of weeks. One of my friends took 6 months to heal. I understand what you are saying about other women having issues breastfeeding, etc w/ a C Section. But, natural or C Section, you're gonna be sore. However, did those women who had problems work out? Usually women who work out have a much faster recovery. ...I was at the gym until 2 months ago 2-3 times a week. Like, when I had my boobs done- I had them done on a Friday morning, and I was at the mall shopping on Sunday- and I went under the muscle. I just don't know right now...I asked my Dr. about getting a C Section, and she even said the C Section is a better way to go. Just less stress for the baby....but then there's a scar...
