Giant revamp, No. Bankruptcy,Yes. Fighters, None. Even if they were to resurface they wouldn't stand a chance. They put all their eggs in one basket (Kimbo Slice) and lost it all in his 1st round loss to Seth Petruzelli. It will take a very well organized and financed organization to even compete with the UFC.

I can't copy and paste on the iPhone, but I will post the link to the companies filings and lack of bamkrupcty later. Your post is essentially what I am looking to hear about. IE do anyone have any respect for the King of the Cage fighters etc? Or do you believe it is a waste.

I have respect for any fighter that dedicates their life to that lifestyle. The amateur and small organizations that exist in the mma world is the first opportunity for up and coming fighters that would essentially have no other means of exposure to get recognized. I think it's vital to the sport for these 'other' organizations to exist.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostI can't copy and paste on the iPhone, but I will post the link to the companies filings and lack of bamkrupcty later. The owner of ProElite the parent company of Elite XC said he was filing for bankruptcy back in October. If in fact they never filed and are still around they are probably only doing small shows to attempt to funnel some sort of revenue to cover their millions in losses.

My reason for wanting to know what you all think about these kind of organizations is to figure out if it will survive even as a minor player. I didn't mean to insult the athletes rather get a determination as to whether these kind of organizations are needed.Originally posted by blm View PostI have respect for any fighter that dedicates their life to that lifestyle. I'm researching the organization for capital and labor investment. I wanted to get a base feeling of how people in the MMA community feel about the company to determine if it is worth my time. This is an opportunity that would move me to California, something I am pursuing. However, I don't know enough about the MMA community. Going straight to an MMA forum to ask this seems like it might gain poor responses.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Poststill not following why you are so interested.

Rado, thank you. I read the Wikipedia and all the supporting links already.

Investing in any of the small promotions would be stupid they are all crooks and wouldnt mind taking your money.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostI'm researching the organization for capital and labor investment. You would need to start your own promotion to be worth it. then you would need a reason to go to yours instead of others. Pay fighter more cash have a super star involved something to put yourself apart from the rest.
Investing in a company like strikforce wouldnt be a bad idea but I would think you would need to step up with a mill or more. they just bought all the worth while contracts from showtime (eliteXC). as a matter of fact one of my team mates(scott smith) is fighting on april 11th in san jose for strike force.

I know they bought EliteXC's contracts, but ProElite still holds the rights to the video and promotion of the fights if I understand correctly. I also believe they are going to begin showing EliteXC fights or King of the Cage fights on CBS. This opportunity was brought to me by someone I trust so I don't believe I will be getting taken for money intentionally. I just don't want to invest in something people in the MMA community have no respect for.

I see you have a inside to EliteXC. I say no way in hell. They are the biggest laughing stocks in all of MMA. They got caught paying guys to stand with Kimbo that is pretty much fixing a fight. No one worth a shit will roll with them.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostExactly the person I am looking to hear from.

I think showtime owns all the rights to the fights. I also think Elitexc owes shotime some cash.
King of the Cage might be something to look at. But you need to ask yourself why would they want investors now? they have been around a long time.
Chris if you have that kind of money I would look into starting your own promotion. MMA has already blown up but it is gonna keep on going and going.

I was certainly not asked to bring 1mil+ to the table, let's just clear that up. However I am looking to get involved in a small start up / company revamp in an industry that, at the very least, is interesting to me. However, while I have been researching ProElite it came to my attention that the organization, or atleast some of it's subsidiaries are...for lack of a better word, not respected in the MMA anymore. However, it sounds like they are begining to focus on king of the cage as a primary money maker. I am simply looking for public feedback on the company, and figured guys here seem interested in MMA so why not ask.
