  • Got back from NYC today...

I don't know why I just don't move there. I love the busy on the go, love the city, and have a ton of friends there. So much to do! Plus our company has an office there I may be able to transfer to.

If you have valid reasons not to move, then don't. But if they are just excuses...

I don't have any reasons not to move. I don't want to really be stuck here, it was just a stepping stone.

I know what you mean. We want to move back to the center of the country in the next few years. We never came out here (Pitt) with plans to stay. The biggest thing is don't want to move after my son is about 6 or 7 (hes 3.5 now).

I wish I lived in NYC. I love it here in Portland but I really wish I could live in either San Francisco or NYC. I am a city boy born and bred - grew and lived in the heart of the city all my life and I need to constant hustle and bustle. The country life is sure not for me.

If you'd be getting a bump in pay covers the increased cost of living, go for it. If not though, I'd think long and hard before making that move.

I'd like to live Jersey, seems like New York without the frills and bullshit, like more real people

Yes that would be the biggest factor. I girl from my office transfered down there last year and got the pay increase.
