Interesting to a point, but other things haven't really changed, the important things.

One things that perplexes me is that with all these advances in science and technology there's still no cure to AIDS and more importantly Cancer. Is this really a coincidence that the human population is known to be spiraling out of control?

Or that when there is famine and many wars in Africa etc we as western countries don't seem to do much?

I get trying to help other countries, but it has gotten to the point (in the U.S.) where it's tiring how fast we jump to help other countries and not our own.

I agree too but my point is that actually in many cases it seems western aid is quite ostensible, a bit like the Charlie Wilson's War film where a country is seen to be helping, but not really.
