There are phrases I hear people use that drive me crazy, such as:

"I found it in the last place I looked."----I hope you did. Because if you find it and keep looking afterwards, therefore not making it the last spot you looked, you are a moron.

And this one:

"IT is like you want to have your cake and eat it too."---No shit. Its my cake, I'll do what I want with it. Should I just stare at it?

I dont have a fancy joke for this one, but I really can't stand when people say:

Idiomatic phrases don't bother me if used correctly. It's when people use them improperly or in an over use that just makes them trite. Next time you hear someone use a phrase like that, as them what it means and why we say it (pardon my french is my favorite). 90% or more of the people don't know what they are saying, they are just trying to fit it into conversation like they have heard before. The other thing that bugs me is when people try to use complex words just to sound smart and use it improperly. Ironically it makes them sounds silly.
