I'm not sure what draws me to it. Maybe it's the beginnings story or something else. It just seems different than the rest.

Just came from the movie. Being that it was completely different from the rest of the Star Trek franchise, its hard for me to say I love it...but it was a great movie. My buddy who makes fun of Star Trek (and me for liking it) came with me and said he thought it was great.

It was actually well acted, had great CG and action scenes. There was one bad fight scene that I can have imagine was an homage to the original Star Trek. Opening scene was badass and there was some good humor in it.

If you know anytime about the franchise though, it takes a LOT of leeway with the timeline / structure of the universe. (ie the amount of time it takes to get places, technology, etc)

All and all if I weren't a Star Trek fan to begin with I probably would think it was a good action Sci-fi flick. A lot different than anytime that came before it in Star Trek.

Its made almost as much as the new X-Men movie. 76 million for a opening weekend isn't terrible.

I tried watching a movie on demand last night, Star Trek:Generations, and I didn't last 10 minutes. Should I go see the new one or wait until dvd release?

Im not a big star trek guy....This new one was great action packed....saw the trailer for the new transformers looks sick

I would answer that with Curtus E Flushs comment. Completely different than any previous one. It was a great movie.

Basically they changed the entire theme of Star Trek with this movie. The movie is based on a new canon(completely new story line). The movie is action packed, funny, and great fights CG. I highly recommend seeing it in IMAX. I really liked it.

That takes a lot for me to say because I am die hard trekker. Its actually sad as I look around my room. Either way I like the new universe theme they are going with and I think it can go well if they work with it.
