spent afternoon planting 10 thuja trees -- planting another 10 tomorrow -

about an hour after i got finished planting them i had 2 deer eating them -- i have to find something that will keep them away from the trees they cost too much money just to watch the deer eat them -

there lucky its not deer season :)

If you have a dog grooming business anywhere near you, call them up and see if you can have their clippings at the end of the day. Sprinkle dog hair in a perimeter around the trees...the scent will spook most deer and they'll stay away.

Also mist the trees with a solution of Bitrex

It'll make the trees taste so bitter that the few deer not spooked by the dog hair won't want to graze.

My 06 has been in my family for for almost 70 years. Literally hundreds of deer taken down with it. It's old faithful. Only misfire that I am aware of was from shitty reloads. Still has the old original wooden stock that was broken, repaired by drilling, inserting a dowel rod, wood putty, scraped with glass, sanded, stained and sealed. I thought about getting it re-blued and a new stock, but then it wouldn't be the same gun with all the stories behind (legal and illegal). I still have a scar on the bridge of my nose from the first time I shot it (when I was 8) and the scope hit me on the recoil.
