Unfortunately didn't get tampa like I wanted, so i'll be heading up to Richmond to do some work with the ER and fire department. Anyone from this area and know of what's any good to do up there? I've heard you pretty much have to go to DC to find anything good to do. Tampa would've been so much better.

It was ONLY because my dad knows the guy in charge of assignments. I have a friend that's in the AF and he's been trying to get to FL for 15 years now - everyone wants to be stationed here.
GA for 2 years? So where does VA come in? VA is a beautiful state for seasons, and there are always things to do. As far as partying, I don't anything about Richmond but I'm sure it has its share. Plenty to do in DC if you have a weekend.

My brother had to volunteer for a 15 month deployment in order to get japan. Not sure why he wants to go there. VA is a tdy. My permanent duty station is fort benning. I won't be getting a weekend up there either. One day off a week and i'll be working night shift. Guess i'll just have to gym it up at the college campus.Originally posted by FitnessBrat View PostIt was ONLY because my dad knows the guy in charge of assignments. Yup, two years of PA school, come out as a first lieutenant and then captain within a year plus $30k extra a year for being a PA. Not too shabby. Tdy is only a month. It's like a tdy within another tdy. I've been at this school for almost 6 months. After that, i'm back to georgia.Originally posted by FitnessBrat View PostExcellent idea. Nothing better than having your school paid for and a secure job until you finish.
How long is your tdy?

Eh, GA isn't that bad. You have North FL not too far away - and of course Atlanta.
