I'm not getting offended, you are obviously more egotistical than I thought. If you don't like me pointing out the ignorance in some of your jokes, than don't make them. I may be a hypocrite sometimes but I learn from it. It's called personal growth. You should try it instead of just ignoring the parts you don't like to hear. Would it been better for you if I would have used a smaller word than ignorant to state that the trailer park thing doesn't apply? This of course is a rhetorical question because I don't really care. Maybe the whole misunderstanding is you lack of knowing or understanding the definition of ignorant. Not my fault though.

I'm about the furthest thing from a hillbilly and I fit about 3 of your criteria and (at sometime) own property in the south. Shibby is right, if your statement is serious. You're saying one thing (albeit funny) and almost hypocritically 'being' another.

Dont get me wrong, it's hilarious and all because the stereotype is funny, just not always true.

And yes. I like NASCAR, not my favorite but cars and speed are cool.

sorry but the only people who DONT make fun of a trailer park are the people that live IN one. so would you say that the rest of the world outside of a trailer park is ignorant?

I re-read my original post and kind of can see how you misunderstood it now. I was using myself as a qualifier to my knowledege of trailer parks. Not in a defensive manner. I have no problem with you joking about it. I am happy to be placed in a southerner category. Hell I even use a longhorn as my avatar sometimes. I want you too look up the definition of ignorant and then aply it soley to the trailer park conversation as I did and then see if I need to answer that question. I'm not even going to get into the part about making jokes on a topic just because everyone else does.

you come around and say: "All of that is funny except the trailer park thing. That just sound ignorant yes I live in a "trailer park" (although they are mostly modular homes) but my kids have a house and a yard instead of an apartment and a parking lot."

and just mess up the whole tone of the thread. people went from smiling to one of those "awkward" moments.
