  • Work has been boring lately...

In the office there hasn't been any work for me to do so about three weks ago they tell me i'm gonna be doing some waterline inspection. I'm like ok i've done it before so no problem. They now told me last week I will be doing this for the next two months.

Now for the positives: plenty of overtime, don't have to drive my own car, don't have anyone looking over my shoulder, do the same thing everyday, lots of hotties drive by all day.

Now for the negatives: it's pretty boring just sitting there watching pipe being put in the ground, work 10 hour days just sitting around, no internet connection (good thing i got an iPhone), i'm exhausted when I get home, 30 minute drive each way.

The only thing keeping me sane is the fact that my paycheck will be very nice when I get them. And at the rate the contractor is moving it will probably be more than 2 months so once it's all over i'll have some money to go on a vacation which will be much needed.

Yep I know what you mean. Just got my first check with OT today and I got raped in taxes. Good thing I'll get most back in February.

Work is always boring. That's why they call it work, not fun.

The way things are out there, don't complain about work....at least you are working. Lots of people that have been laid off would be happy to do just about anything that pays well. I know being out 'in the field' isn't as comfortable as killing time in an office, but from your description it sounds like you'll be mostly watching others do the real work...not having to break a sweat yourself. I'm sure you'll think of creative ways to amuse yourself to help pass the time.:)

LOL yeah I bust balls with the contractors. Nah i'm not really complaining too much since it's not that bad. I do help out every once in a while so it's not bad.
