You question my diet and training when you openly admit how much you slack off? I don't smoke weed and I don't have any desire too. Enabling the government to pick and choose as they see fit instead of doing the will of the people I do have a problem with. If alcohol and tobacco are legal then I say legalize marijuana. I think the pros far out way the cons. If we keep marijuana illegal then we should outlaw tobacco and alcohol. People are going to find a way to do what they want. Are you okay with people going to bars? Have you ever been to one? (rhetorical) How do you feel about your kids going when they are of age? Whether a substance is legal or not I feel my parenting comes first on teaching my kids to be responsible. If you want me to say would I rather them smoke tobacco, drink alcohol or smoke weed, that's a dumb question. I also feel sports betting should be better used in the U.S. The amount of money that is illegal gambled surpasses the current bail out plan. Illegalizing something doesn't automatically put and end to it. In these cases all it does is create an underground economy where money will be spent anyways but our country doesn't benefit from it. In fact we have to spend millions to fight and if we legalize it, that money plus the new revenue can be used for a lot of good.

The "gateway" drug argument is weak in my opinion, and the "we are making it safe for the kids is also weak", that is exactly what the government wants you to think, all media bullshit.Originally posted by FitnessBrat View PostI already know how "bad" alcohol is, how it kills more people every year than probably every drug combined, etc. That is certainly not up for debate from me.
I find it a little odd that you share such a strong opinion about this drug. How does pot work with your diet and training? How about as a parent - are you okay with your children using it when they're of age?
Just like the crazy flu epidemic that is sweeping our nation....:dunno:..

The gateway discussion is a matter of semantics in my opinion. Way more kids try alcohol and tobacco before marijuana. It's much more accessible to minors. But because it is legal it's often overlooked (purposely or on accident...?)in the discussion. I tried many different drugs when I was younger. Did a lot of X, some shrooms and tons of alcohol. Tried weed and cigarettes, but didn't care for it. Marijuana wasn't the "gateway" drug for myself and many others. The gateway is what ever substance your psychology takes a liking too.

It will never happen. First off, the governor of a state cannot legalize a federally controlled substance. Secondly, if it were legalized it would be taxed the same as alcohol and the effects would be dulled. Controlled substances are controlled because the federal government does not believe people can 'control' themselves. Marijuana support does not have the same money as tobacco or alcohol.

Or it coule be because the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (a branch of the IRS)Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostControlled substances are controlled because the federal government does not believe people can 'control' themselves. created the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 adding to the Harrison Narcotics Tax Act of 1914.

While going through a custody battle and my doctor thinking I could have leukemia - yes, I felt I had a good enough reason to "slack off" and put the gym second. At almost 33, with two children, I weigh 118 lbs - I'm not complaining. I was questioning what marijuana does for your diet and training.Originally posted by Shibby View PostYou question my diet and training when you openly admit how much you slack off? The point here was that *I* personally do not feel that marijuana will be legalized. Why you got so defensive, who knows - you just like going against the grain, and that's fine. There are plenty of things that could bring in revenue, that isn't a good enough reason.
