same type of thing happened to me as a kid.

not sure if this is the same thing but my mom had bought a bag of potatoes and put them in the pantry. we went on vacation for 2 weeks and forgot about some of the potatoes. the potatoes were in pitch black dark and had grown green stalks out of them a good 2 feet! lmao.
