  • Home owner finds nasty surprise.

I would have never bought this house in the first place but..

What are the ramifications when a real estate disclosure is misleading, and nasty surprises are revealed after sale? | Ask Metafilter

This happened over here with a vietnamese kid who came home one day and killed his family for the insurance. Made it look like a break in. The people who bought the house had no idea. When they found out, they took it to court. They have a law now where the seller has to disclose any murder or crime that happened in the property etc to the buyer.

Wow, I would never have purchased that house in the first place. That is absolutely freaky. Makes ya wonder about what went on at your own house before you lived there.

In Jersey every house has at least four dead bodies under the carpet.

          It's a fact.

:hibb:come to think of it, its could be a way to get cheap real estate, read the papers and every time a fuker kills hiself at home or gets murdered, the family are bound to want to sell up and move

The guy was made aware there had been a suicide in the home - does it really matter where it took place? Aside from being a biohazard no-no, I doubt the guy will gain anything more than the cost of the clean up.

On what grounds though - the crappy "clean up"? And really, the owners/sellers could have been clueless - could have been a crap job by the company they hired.
