  • Blogging with adsense

For those of you who have done it, is it worth it or a waste of time?

  • #2
its worth it if you have a specific audience.

the banner you see below your post is adsense. it automatically knows this a steroid related site so it post steroid related links most of the time.

BUT, if you are just blogging about random crap your audience will not be specific and thus people are much less likely to click the ads.

all about a targeted audience bro. you wouldnt want to advertise old people diapers during the world cup etc.. :P

So you dont have control over the ads? They appear automatically when the google acct is created?

I just tried a test blog using blogger.com. I signed up for adsense but there are no ads appearing on the blog.

no, adsence uses google to "detect" the theme of a site.

as far as the ads showing up. you need to 1. have a site that allows adsence and 2 insert the code into the site itself. you dont just sign up and hope for the best. :retard:

                  lol.

people blog about themselves or a topic.

for example, one of my favortite blogs is Autoblog — We Obsessively Cover The Auto Industry just a bunch of news stories etc.. on cars.

So does that cost the owner to run it? What is the difference between a blog and a website. Blogger.com is free. You just sign in and create an acct and ad adsense.

yea, just like in the real world bro, anything that is going to make you money is going to cost money.

server cost, web design, search engine optimization etc..

a site like blogger will never give you the exposure needed to make any money.

for example, when you type in "superiormuscle" into google it will bring you right here. but if you wanted to get to your blog you couldnt do that. you would have to go to blogger and then go to your blog.

its really not as easy to make money on the internet as many make it seem. takes a lot of work and effort.

Ya so basically your better off just running a website. Blogger was promoted as a free service where you could do all that. But like you say, you cant get it in the search engines so you cant get traffic.

yup. as long as you are under the control of a company's website (blogger) it will be really hard to make money.

dont mean to be a downer bro. just want to be honest so you dont go crazy with it all. :P
