Hey all,

My mom has been battling cancer the past year and the chemo and radiation didn't work. She just got her last results from her scan and it has spread and is terminal.

Does anyone know of any good eastern medicine websites or any alternative idea/suggestions?

Not at all......completely different. I wouild never even put this up if it were not true and I would never wish this on anyone or any family.

Looking for alternative eastern medicine that might work........she starts chemo again on Wednesday and has been doing acupuntcure......but was thinking someone might have suggestions or a good website source that takes a more holistic approach through herbal medicine, etc.

There are a lot of different eastern medicines - depends on which country you are talking about. The Indian medicine system is called Ayurveda. You might want to google for Ayurvedic practitioners in your area - I am sure there will be someone close by. It is most likely to be tied to a yoga center or some such organization who believes in Eastern philosophy. As with most Eastern medicines, Ayurveda offers palliative options for quality of life issues like pain control, digestive/skin conditions, etc. etc. rather than a cure of serious illnesses. Since unfortunately your mother appears to be looking primarily for quality of life treatments, you might look into Ayurveda.

Another thing to look into is Homeopathy, a German medicine system. An anecdote: my wife's coworker's mother recently passed away from leukemia. When her disease was declared by her western doctors to be terminal and that there was nothing more they could do, she turned to Homeopathy. Lots of people believe that homeopathy is a not scientifically legitimate form of medicine, but it appeared to ease her suffering considerably in her final months and weeks.

I'm sorry to hear of your trouble and hope that these suggestions might offer some options for improving your mother's quality of life in the days ahead.

Wow bro sorry to hear, My dad just passed away from cancer I know what you are goin threw and it sucks.

It was in his lungs. He smoked his whole life. He went to the doc one day cuzz he felt like shit and they X-rayed his chest and his whole lung was full of cancer. He died with in that week. So at least he didnt suffer to much he also knew he was gonna die the day before he told me he was cool with going he had a good life.

I realize this is a month old, but I stumbled upon and feel this to the heart... My mother died from cancer after her second battle with it. I was 18 and my mother was my best friend..My father narrowily survived his fight with cancer two years prior!! It's really twisted that this happens to loved ones like our friends and family and not the scum of the earth that decieve, steal, rape, and murder...

Back on topic - at the time my mother was deemed terminal, she did try and turn to a holistic approach. I really don't remember what it was called, but a gentleman came to our home and basically examined her. From what I remember, he focused a lot on her hands and how they responded to certain actions... I remember this guy having a HUGE chart of all natural supplements and herbs and he went through one by one with my mother. He wound up putting her on a shit load of stuff found at GNC and elsewhere. In the end, she was too weak to take all these pills each day... The guy claimed at the time that people have beaten cancer following such programs when doctors said they couldn't. I personally was never really sold on this guy and his practice, at least not in the condition my mother was in.

Sorry for such vague information but I know what you're going through right now and remember looking for ANY ray of hope at the end of the tunnel so hopefully this provides one.
