I haven't cared for anything that he has done since Pulp Fiction. Hopefully, this will make up for it.

I hear you, it's hard to go from reservoir dogs / pulp fiction in a two year span and then not have some type of slump - that being said I've enjoyed his films since, just not on that type of level.

I loved it. I thought it was brilliant. No CGI; well crafted cinema. It wasn't really that violent (not as bad as the press made it to be...go figure). There is a lot of subtitles for the German and French speaking parts (which is most of the movie).

It's long and a little slow in the middle, but necessary for the plot. I definitely recommend seeing it if you are a Pulp Fiction era Tarantino fan.

My girl and i saw it too, but we though it blew lol. My impression from the previews were that it was gonna be all this killing. well you get killing ten minutes in, then 2 hours later at the end, you get a little more. Meanwhile the entire movie is terribly slow and in subtitles. There were people who got up and left during our show. But I guess we have different tastes.

I can see that. If you are looking for just the brutality portrayed by the reviews/media you will definitely be disappointed, imo.

I like movies that are well written with attention to detail and not carried by effects; like silly shit (dirt under the finger nails after being outside as opposed to a still perfectly manicured hollywood hand).

sounds like he went back a page - reservoir dogs was like that - action at the front - plot loading throughout - then a killer ending.
