  • US Military flyover denied for first time in 42 years because its a Christian Event

Unbelievable, even though they been doing it every year for 42 years this year the military have refused to provide flyover for the Festival because they don't want to be un PC.

I'm happy about this, no more wasted tax dollars with stuff like that crap. Especially when it is religiously dividing. Not fair to the Jews and Muslims who have to pay for it with their taxes in this country.

I don't care. The US government needs to get a balance sheet and the first thing that needs to go is funding for ANY religious events. The constitution was quite explicit about wanting the government to be the government and religion to be religion. Its bullshit when people say otherwise.

I'm just typing this so...down the line I don't get quoted saying what you wrote. I am religious, but the government has no business in it. PERIOD!

The festival was being held in support of the troops abroad, it just happened to be of christian backdrop, still feel the same?

No, that is not what the article stated. THE FLYOVER was in support of troops by members of the festival. The festival was a Christian event celebrating GOD and COUNTRY. A flyover, an expensive exercise for our government, is not the only way to support our troops. Praying in ones home and wishing for their safe return is a far more Christian way of supporting our troops. God, through many passages in Matthew, that prayer in private is true prayer.

The article was correct in saying there are no laws attached to it, but I doubt the founding fathers ever imagined anything like a flyover. It is something they would clearly see as government waste when it was for a singular religious event.

I don't believe in any flyovers, PERIOD. Its like a bankrupt person renting a Ferrari for the day to drive around.

No, thats even worse. Maybe if an event will foot the bill, but even then its disputable...
