and as long as you put yourself in a position to hold them accountable and question them instead of worrying about yourself i will do the same to you. :hibb:Originally posted by Pastafarian View PostKnocking people of their pedestal is a reference to anyone that makes a statement that puts someone else below them. With religion, I hold everything accountable and will continue to hold everything about it accountable until it's kept private. I have lots of questions for people especially when they can't explain why. Within their explanations I will probably have more questions and show different ways to look at it. If they can't stand up to that kind of criticism, then they shouldn't be making the statement (in regards to what ever topic is at hand).
you think Darwin was worried about religious people? he was too fascinated by science to be concerned with that.
i am into fitness and bodybuilding, should i spend half my time questioning people that are against fitness and bodybuilding?

That is the exact attitude b is talking about. Because someone can't justify themselves in a way that satifues you, they shousdnt be making any comments. That's very...perfect for you.Originally posted by Pastafarian View PostKnocking people of their pedestal is a reference to anyone that makes a statement that puts someone else below them. Not "any comments", just ones that make a statement of the true, the right or definitive.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostThat is the exact attitude b is talking about. and you have appointed yourself as the judge of what people should believe in. and if they believe in something religious you are sure to try and make them feel stupid.Originally posted by Pastafarian View PostNot "any comments", just ones that make a statement of the true, the right or definitive.
thus my point from the start. :)

You really can't read in context. Where did I say I am the judge? I said I will not stand by quietly when someone is making the statements as previously described. No where does that mean I am saying what "is", just saying that the statement isn't what "is". I don't try to make theist look stupid. If they feel stupid then it's on them. All I do is throw logic and skepticism in the mix. The whole religion topic now is you digressing. Totally not your point from the start. Maybe a sub-piece that led you to making this thread, but far from the original point.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postand you have appointed yourself as the judge of what people should believe in. and if they believe in something religious you are sure to try and make them feel stupid.

Yea, but you don't know what is true, right of definitive. You often quote logic as your primary gate keeper. However, as I have said before, logic only resides here on Earth. Logic cannot explain dark matter, anti matter. Logic cannot explain our universe ... and now I hate you for making me think about the Universe.Originally posted by Pastafarian View PostNot "any comments", just ones that make a statement of the true, the right or definitive.

you had to go and make my argue with you now.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostLogic cannot explain dark matter, anti matter. Logic cannot explain our universe ... and now I hate you for making me think about the Universe.
science is moving forward everyday on our understand of dark matter etc..
200 years ago "logic" couldn't explain many things we can explain today.
science just isn't there yet when it comes to many topics. doesn't mean it cant eventually be explained.

Examples: homosexuality is wrong (how ever that is brought into topic), there is one true religion (how ever that is brought into topic), this group of people are ok to make fun of (how ever that is brought into topic) etc...Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostYea, but you don't know what is true, right of definitive. Because I believe everyone has equal right to feel human and not let someones beliefs stands as the sole opinion, I am the gatekeeper to what it true? I just make people aware that there are many different views out there and just censoring yourself when those people are around doesn't show respect it shows ignorance.

To kind of change direction to the whole point of this thread. Look at the members with the highest post. Besides Bouncer, Rado and I, take a look how active those people are. There are a few, but not many. Just like Bouncer and Rado have said the board is slow without them, I am my own piece to that puzzle. :D
