This is kind of sounding like a Sonis bash. Just to be fair, I'm sure he does his fair share of stuff even if it doesn't all pertain to the baby. No?

Well, let's see...he works 40 hrs a week...and has his training clients on Sundays. He did take my car for a wash & vaccuum last week, and he actually went to the grocery store...As for his fair share around the house- umm...he did vaccuum 2 days ago. He typically will clean up the kitchen after I cook..that's about it. What do the rest of you do ?

Yep- she was really focused & trying to touch the lemon juice bottle, and the butter spray bottle. Probably because of the bright colors.

What do the rest of you do ?

When I was working alot of overtime I didnt do much around the house. On Sundays I would help clean the house real good but thats about it. Now, I only work 5 days a week so on my day off I try to do all the laundry and just pick up the house and vacum. I do make dinner for the kids. Took me a few days off to get a routine down.

Crap, I don't see the post I already made, so I will just repost a summary.

We don't really have any kind of a structured set up. We take care of things that we see needs done.we feel things are fair. We naturally gravitate to certain tasks but we don't pay attention to if its 50/50. I don't know how we would place value on everything. Total "things", how much time spent on the things, how much physical or mental effort something takes. Its hard to really draw comparisons for you also because we are managing two kids which gives it a whole different aspect.

That's probably the funniest line about this whole thing. When I was pregnant, sonis was like "i'm gonna be the best dad, etc". That may be true- but when they say that, they sure as hell aren't thinking about the first 4 years of their life

i had a blast -- i changed pampers , fed , cleaned my girls -- i did laundry , cleaned house , etc etc -- i grew up fucked up so i gave my girls when they were babies what i didnt get !!!! thats dad being there , trying the best at painting there nails , doing there hair , taking them fishing etc etc

my family is my life -- havent been the best husband but i have been a damn good dad -- i have got the being a good husband thing back in check though -

I missed my daughters birth but was there for my son. The Dr. didnt even give me a chance to cut the cord he just did it without even asking me. I said "What the fuck??" .....lol That made my wife laugh.

I cut the cord for both my kids and I don't get the big deal. With the second I said they could go ahead and do it, but then someone who came in later, just handed me the scissors so I did it.

Wait- you're kidding about all of this right? Just because Grandma lives around the corner, doesn't mean she's at your beck and call...and just cause she's working from home, doesn't mean she's gonna want to clean. Aside from feeding, changing and bathing her, she does have to take care of herself too.

The only drawback to having kids and becoming so busy and burdened, (but in a good way), is how relationships suffer post kids. I see why people get divorced. There's definitely a total disconnect once you have kids. You're not only pulled in 8 different directions, but you just have very little time for yourself, let alone each other. I wouldn't trade her for anything, but there is definitely a struggle to make time for the actual marriage. I feel sometimes like I'm married to a friend of mine. I don't know if it's the hormones, and my body right now to add to it, but it's definitely an elephant in the room.

Ok I try not to give up to much info on a board like this but I will say I have been with this same girl for 9 years and already have a 15 year old. We know each other well and we are 100% ok with the way we do things. This is no BS at all. She makes more cash then I do she cooks she cleans and she loves it this way. I have grabed a dish before and had to put it down cuzz she seriously got mad. I do apperciate you advice and will always listen to anyone tryin to help but I "should" be just fine.
Yes already have a name it is Mackenzie I can only hope she is as cute as your girl.

Got it...Now, if you haven't guessed already, I am a pretty willful and independent female. I too make more money than my husband, and I prefer to cook and clean myself as well. But, when there is a new element added to your daily routine, i.e., a baby, things just take on a whole new look. So, just keep that in mind. If the house looks dusty, and it's been awhile, I would just say "hey- I'm going to dust- you have your hands full"..Even me being so independent, I would welcome that- I know I do it better, but at least it's getting done somewhat, and I don't have to worry about that on top of worrying about my new baby.

Love the name by the way. :)
