I'd like to get a bike, never had one, my buddy has an old 883 he got for cheap, he lowered it, put some bars on it, straight pipes. and build a custom rear fender, for a grand think it would be a good price for a first bike?

883 is a womans bike :) - grand for it is not bad though -- older models do come with a cost though -- your fixing it more then riding it !!
