I have spent the last couple months in a kind of focus counseling and now my doctor prescribed. The diagnosis is adult ADD, but I have probably had it my whole life. I had learned to adapt to it for the most part, but since getting promoted to a much more professional job it was effecting me more than ever. My job is very detailed oriented and a lot of repetitive tasks. The main point behind the thread though is I'm getting this out there in the open (where appropriate) so that there is no loss of control with it. I take it in the mornings M-F.

Is it generic XR or the IR ? How is your body handling it so far? I have a great deal of first hand experience w/both d and l amphetamine salts, if you start to find you have any issues (be it anxiety, crashing, whatever) feel free to PM me. Best of luck bro, I was on the stuff for years and it was a roller coaster, was way to young and way to over prescribed. You have a good head on your shoulders, I'm glad you will share something like this openly, we all have to deal with different issues and their are legit reasons for ADD / ADHD medications. Ignore any stigma, focus on your work and like I said if you have any feelings or drug interactions you don't like def shoot me a msg.

Exactly why that was my the first question. I can tell you first hand the XR is not only shitty because it will leave you more strung out but I've only seen one non generic XR that was roughly 80% pure. Whereas the IR is a solid 90% w/the rest being the filler (amphetamine salts crumble like mdma without an additive). The IR is much easier on the body I found, regardless of your dose, you know what you are taking whereas the XR ... meh I've never known anyone who preferred it for studying / focusing.Originally posted by Turbo3000 View PostYeah let me know if you have any questions. I have been on it for a couple years, but I only use it on days I study. I started on the XR, but it would kick in at sporadic times, and made it difficult for me to dose correctly.

It's not XR, they are pressed tablets. It's the generic. Today I feel like I had a bunch of caffeine, but kind of relaxed at the same time. The doctor said that initial feeling should balance out after a couple days. I have all the professional advice I could want at my disposal (I work in a specialty pharmacy) but I will hit you guys up if I have any "experience" questions. Thanks. :)

100% agree. good luck shibOriginally posted by radoI meant as in I hope you get off the pills soon...IMO ADD can be controlled without meds...Seems like they're meds for everything in this time of age...They have pills for sweaty arm pits, they have pills for ED, etc...I believe a lot of these issue can be controlled by ourselves.

I'm not sure I understand your post. It sounds like you are trying to minimize what's going on with me. I'm not sure how you are qualified to give, what sounds like, such a critical opinion. I'm not going to get into some long discussion with you trying to defend myself because I don't feel any need to. If you are speaking from experience maybe sharing that experience would be more productive.Originally posted by radoI meant as in I hope you get off the pills soon...IMO ADD can be controlled without meds...Seems like they're meds for everything in this time of age...They have pills for sweaty arm pits, they have pills for ED, etc...I believe a lot of these issue can be controlled by ourselves.

I agree that a lot of the time meds are prescribed way too often but in this case I don't see that as how it is since shibby already stated he was in some focus councelling and such to control his problem and he needed to start using meds because it wasn't working....Originally posted by radoI meant as in I hope you get off the pills soon...IMO ADD can be controlled without meds...Seems like they're meds for everything in this time of age...They have pills for sweaty arm pits, they have pills for ED, etc...I believe a lot of these issue can be controlled by ourselves.
Rado I really think your comments are off base here.... what experience do you have with mental problems or brain unbalances that makes you able to form a decent opinion on this sort of thing??
And for fucks sakes.... are you seriously telling someone not to use meds for something that he needs them for, based on your opinion that you shouldn't use meds unless absolutely necessary (which brain unbalances can be necessity in my eyes anyway) when you fill your body with steroids which last time I checked is not suppose to be available without prescription in order to obtain the body you want.... let me reiterrate that..... you use them not to correct something that isn't right in your body by nature but just to obtain the type of body you wish to have based on what society thinks is attractive.... And then you sit there on your little perch and judge someone for using a prescribed drug after trying other methods of treatment to control their problem??? Damn it your unreal sometimes bro.... Give your damn head a shake and get out of your holier then tho world and take a look around!
And for the record I have some experience with mental problems of different sorts in my family and I myself have been forced to use prozac to control a really bad case of depression at one point in my life....
SHIBBY; I understand what its like to feel like you don't have full control of your own mind.... And do what you need to do whether that be take meds or not! May I also suggest reading some Anthony Robbins books because they are great books for getting control of your own mind and keeping a good grip on life and reality..... Good luck bro!
