  • Bicycle help...

I haven't owned or been on a bike in about 10 years.

Well, today I bought me one off craigslist. I need to enhance my cardio and running usually gives me shin splints, and topped off with my messed up turf toe shit, I just don't want to put stress on the toe.

Anyway. I bought the bike, the guy removed the wheels so it would fit in car. I have rear wheel on correctly, front one is giving me trouble.

I have it set up like this...chrome nut----chrome washer---fork---some kind of washer thing---washer-hub.

I don't know if that is correct, or if the fork goes closer to the hub and the blk washer thing beside the chrome washer.

Internet searches aren't helping me much, I emailed the guy, but I figured someone on here might know.

Off to mess with it some more.

    That sounds correct.

Can you post a picture? It does not have the quick change system?

No quick change, I wish it did.

Combine the fact that I haven't been on a bike in 10 years, plus the fact that I bought a fixed gear bicycle==:retard:

I just made a couple good loops around, but I need a lot of practice. I have never used toe clips, so getting in those is a fun new treat.

I will try and get a picture tomorrow.

      Thanks for the help.

Bianchi Pista. I was going to get an old 80's road bike that was converted to a fixed gear, but I really wanted a track bike geometry (basically no tail end). I found the Pista with a nice set of wheels for a good price on CL, and I talked him down some, and then when I got there he threw in a nice bike look and some extra bars and shit, so it went pretty good.

And I wanted a fixed gear, because I wanted to be forced to continuously pedal the bike, I took out the choice of coasting for myself. It does have a freewheel on the other side of the hub, so I can have a "normal" bike if I ever wanted it to just be a single speed.

Bouncer I already have the sports car, and I don't think driving is going to help out my cardio. I'm done with cars, fuck the gas companies, and fuck big metal death traps:thumup:

Trying to get into my road bike guy character.

A Honda Del Sol isn't considered a sports car :D

Sounds like a great great deal, I am a huge mountain bike fan I bike almost everyday and I know nothing about road bikes, but I know one thing and that is I do not like road biking every time I ride on the road I have one or two close calls.

I am not going to venture out on the roads until a few more weeks. Some of these dumbass rednecks around here will most likely want to run me over.

I have reading a lot about bicycles in traffic, so I am definitely trying to read and understand all I can about it, before I just jump out there and hit the streets.
