put it on my slower notebook that had xp on it.

the question is, have you used vista sp1. the service pack took vista and made it a great OS. before the service pack i agree, vista was piss.

I've used vista and imo it's piece of shit. It's turned out to be just like windows ME. Friend of mine who is an IT guy says Windows 7 is far better than vista.

so you havent used windows 7.

have you ever used vista sp1 or just vista? because vista was a piece of shit. sp1 changed all that. windows 7 is vista sp1 on a diet. on a fast computer (anything over $500 bucks today) the difference in speed is hardly noticeable. windows 7 big advantage is that it can be run on older computers.

            windows 7 huge flaw.

Full Disclosure: Windows Vista/7 : SMB2.0 NEGOTIATE PROTOCOL REQUEST Remote B.S.O.D.

basically it can be controlled like windows 98 and 95 could. lol

either I'm reading this wrong or a simple patch would fix this, no? I still really like windows 7, but I am going to give vista a legit run and then chose what i keep on my rig.

Yes I have used Vista sp1 and I couldn't stand it. Either way windows o/s has too many issues in the newer versions.

Mainly one thing I didn't like was the way it was setup. Not everything was it the usual place and I had to search for it. The interface isn't user friendly.

well i hate to brake it to you but windows 7 is almost identical in terms of interface and setup.

its main difference like i said is that its not a resource hog. it can be run on older computers that vista cant.

Maybe so, but 7 can be used more on a server type basis whereas Vista cannot. That is the main and important difference.

pretty much what everyone did. first impressions are huge and microsoft fucked up big with vista. it took about a year and a half for them to really get vista the way it should be. but by then everyone had just decided to wait for the next version (windows 7) to come out. i cant blame anyone for thinking that way.

but if you really look into it, you will see that windows 7 is built on the same platform at vista and pretty much just tweaked a few things. windows 7 is more similar to vista SP1 then any other Microsoft OS have been in the past.

not for the general consumer it isn't.

the main an important difference is its ability to run faster and lighter on older home and business computers.

P.S. Im not saying vista sp1 is better then windows 7. it isnt. its hogs to many resources and is to bulky. just saying that its not the difference from windows 7 that many people seem to think.

I'll disagree with you on this all day long. Why don't you go back to what you really know which is cars and bbing. Leave the nerd stuff up to us.
