After looking at that link again it seemed like an execution to more than a proper funeral, My question is why was that guy hog tied? and why there weren't more family members and stuff around?

You can see clear signs of lividity in the photos.

He's quite dead when they start prepping him.

My guess is the body is tied that way to make it easier to transport, nothing more.

They tie the body so its easier to carry, then they tie the head to the post to stop one of the vultures dragging it away from site
