Are drivers updated weekly?

My old computer that I built had an ATI video card and the fucking driver was updated once in 4 years..................

exactly. drivers may have 1 or 2 updates in 3-4 years.

The tech guy at my work also said it is not neccessary to keep updating your drivers, if the driver is working well, and you are not missing out on any new features you want there is no need to update drivers.

True but on the same token a new driver may have something fixed that you may not notice is wrong, therefore it fixes it.

Damn its been a while. Visiting my parents again today. My laptop is still out of commission. I have honestly been preoccupied with a lot of other shit. I tried the reinstall but the computer won't even get booted up far enough to get to that point. (Pretty sure its a hardware thing) Going to give the guy another week and start computer shopping.
