really the reason i want to put them onto a dvd was because they take up so much space on my computer. i have 13 seasons of top gear, each season is about 7 gigs.

i dont really have a problem watching them on my laptop.

i have an external back drive but its pretty full. bought that about 3 years ago. its only like a 70 gig back up.

gonna get another one. what is the best brand for the best price? looking for something like 500 gigs. thanks

I just recently got a Seagate 1TB for like $90. Seagate and WD are the two I like to stick with.

        Handbrake is great for converting.

Toast and other programs can put it into a format to burn directly to DVD.

Don't you have a 360? I stream all of my stuff to my xbox, but your problem just seems to be that you want to clear the space on computer.

If you had a 360 you could use it as a media extender to your home entertainment center.

Dude, 500GB, rally? Jesus, just get a fucking 1TB drive for 100 bucks off newegg.com.

I have two (I think) Western Digital Element drives that are 1 TB and they hold all my media. They were $115 last January. Just do it.
