Man 'posed as doctor, abused sperm donors'

A US man has been arrested after allegedly posing as a fertility doctor to sexually abuse men who thought they were donating sperm for stem cell research.
Jeffrey Lynn Graybill, 40, used the alias "Dr Richardson" to offer monthly payments of up to US$4000 ($4500) to lure sperm donors to a clinic in Los Angeles, police say.
He was arrested in Arizona last week and faces charges of sexual battery by fraud, identity theft and practising medicine without a certificate.
The alleged sexual abuse was uncovered after one victim lodged a complaint that he had not been paid for a sperm sample he gave in June.
The complaint was treated as a case of consumer fraud until an investigation uncovered evidence Graybill had abused two men, police said.
"He was allegedly pretending to be a doctor, operating a sperm clinic," said Los Angeles County district attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison.
"He would pay for sperm donors and two males showed up to donate and he allegedly conducted exams and sexually fondled them."
s LA police spokesman Ian Carbonell said authorities had reviewed Graybill's email account and identified 24 other possible victims.
"The victims didn't know any better … they thought he's a doctor, he knows what he's doing," he said.
Graybill is being held on a US$675,000 bail and will appear in court on October 16
