Agreed - know several people with it, and it's very common.

it would have to be a SEVERE flair up, i got crohns and when it flairs up its nasty as hell - but something this serious - damn that would suck. I was thinking along those lines or ulcerative colitis - who knows man.

I only posted a link with the most recent 'update' obviously it was a media source and they can print what they want whether confirmed or not. Based on what Dana said "he may never fight again" it sounds kind of far fetched, but severe diverticulitis can cause serious complications that require immediate surgery.

Everything about him as of now is citing severe diverticulitis as the problem.

This is from the Mayo clinic website...

"Diverticulitis is a disease of the colon, a part of the large intestine. Diverticulitis takes place when pouches already present in the colon, through a condition known as diverticulosis, become infected and then inflamed.

A good number of people with Diverticulitis have only mild symptoms. For more than a few however, this condition can post very serious and even life-threatening problems."

Lesnar is expected to make a full recovery from a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract and his trainer claimed to TMZ that Lesnar will be ready to fight again within six months.

UFC president Dana White said on Thursday that Lesnar had a "hole in in intestine" that was causing a leak into his stomach, which caused pain for Lesnar.

“The doctor told him he hasn’t been right for a year," White said. "His immune system has been trying to fight this thing and that's why he was susceptible to getting sick.”

UH, last time I checked "diverticulitis" didn't include "holes in the intestines"...sounds suspect to me. Why do the stories/ or the prognoses keep changing?

It can cause abcess and ruptures.

The stories have been and will continue to change because nothing truely official has been released. Lesnar is a private person and his camp isn't releasing much.
