My dad and step-mom are driving here from NY on Wed, so we will probably have an expanded selection :). I bought a 20lb turkey. Mostly just to do it since they are coming. I'm going try cooking it a little different. A friend said they always cook their turkey upside down and the whole thing is real juicy.

We are vegetarian, so thinking of adding a tofurkey this year... :)
Plus every side dish imaginable - mashed potatoes, cornnbread, cranberry sauce, stuffing, rice pilaf, bean casserole, etc.
Desserts will be apple pie, blueberry pie, cherry pie and loads of ice cream.... :staypuff:

4 turkeys, buffet of sides (jalapeno mac and cheese, homemade mashed potatoes, cornbread, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, chicken breast with peppers, rolls, string bean casserole, mixed veggies, possibly scalloped potatoes?), dessert will be a few things made by yours truly (brownies, cupcakes, cookies) and then baklava, fruit truffle, rice pudding and perhaps ice cream to go with the baked goods.

Also run butter under the skin of the turkey, keep the juices in and adds flavor.Originally posted by Shibby View PostMy dad and step-mom are driving here from NY on Wed, so we will probably have an expanded selection :). I need that Mac and cheese recipe. I think I remember pictures of it last year.Originally posted by mofo View Post4 turkeys, buffet of sides (jalapeno mac and cheese, homemade mashed potatoes, cornbread, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, chicken breast with peppers, rolls, string bean casserole, mixed veggies, possibly scalloped potatoes?), dessert will be a few things made by yours truly (brownies, cupcakes, cookies) and then baklava, fruit truffle, rice pudding and perhaps ice cream to go with the baked goods.

you'd be surprised how good pakistanis can make food. my uncle makes some of the best salsa i've ever had in my life and i know some beaners. we also make damn good chili, steak and even malaysian noodles that my grandmother learned while living in malaysia. i think it's the fact that we have a wider palette by nature.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View PostPakistani Mac and cheese... Ehh I will pass. :D

I'm curious, but my dad loves that kind of stuff and I would love to make it for him.
2 tablespoons butter melted with 2 tablespoons of flour, cooked on low heat until it's nutty in color, then add milk and a little nutmeg (my aunt adds this, i don't know why) and bring it to a boil, then you add shredded sharp cheddar and pepperjack (sometimes colby and any other cheese you want) and get it to the creamy consistency. then you pour it over the macaroni in a metal tray, sprinkle some more cheddar and pepper jack cheese over the top, add some jalapenoes and bake it until the cheese melts and then serve.
