running xp on my mac

use the magnifying glass to find boot camp on ur mac. You use boot camp to partition the HD while ur in OSX.

Then install XP as you would on a blank HD.

Its simple, but you need to download the drivers for your particular Mac....

You do need to have atleast XP w/SP2 though.

thanks. i will have to search for those drivers. i can install office '07 for xp after i run bootcamp, right? i don't want to dish out $150 for office for mac.

lol, that is correct. you will be running windows then. I forget where I found the windows drivers for my mac because it was so long ago that I did it. I burned them to a CD and its basically like any other program you install. Its simple, once the CD is made.

i can get the windows drivers, i have xp sp2 and office 07 and all those goodies along with it, it's just a matter of putting it all together. i don't want to fuck up my MBpro.

You won't. Bootcamp is designed to help you install the windows OS, I think you can actually install the Windows OS while you are in the Mac OS if you want. If you have ever installed software onto a computer before you can do this.

I would do it if you didn't live in MD. It really is very simple, so I know you can do it. You just can't be scared because its a computer. They aren't some mysterious thing like controlling ur body.

i have a 320gb harddrive and about 77 is in use. i dont' know what a good amount is. the link chris sent says 10gb is sufficient, but sufficient means dead slow.

10GB is the minimum they require. I have a 100 GB macbook, 40 is reserved for windows.
