It's all a matter of perspective.
If you are offering a ride to someone, than you have to be in the car right? If 2 peeps get in your car, then you offered a ride to more than 1 person , thus breaking the rules of the question.

I just hate the expression "thinking outside the box" because I have a lazy ass manager who loves to tell other people that all the time. This is the kind of question he would love.

My reponse is: "I'm sorry you trapped yourself in a box, & are thus forced to try to think yourself out of it".
