  • Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition is sportier, less expensive

So often, the tag of "Special Edition" comes with a not-so-special price increase. Fortunately for Subaru fans, the newly-introduced Impreza WRX STI Special Edition is actually less costly. At $32,995 it's actually $2,000 cheaper than the base price of the standard STI.

Of course, buyers of the Special Edition will have to go without certain features, namely HID headlights, premium audio, and automatic climate control. It's not just a de-contented package, though, as the car also comes with the suspension from the spec C model in Japan that includes a thicker rear stabilizer bar, stiffer bushings and stiffer springs.

Initially, each car will be painted in Aspen white with the charcoal-colored 14-spoke wheels also cribbed from the spec C. Just 125 examples will be built in the first quarter of 2010, although Subaru says that more will be available later in the year in additional colors. High-res gallery below, pricing press release available after the jump.

Looks good. Finally the special edition ones don't have any of the luxury crap. They can at least put in a less restrictive exhaust and intake on it. Throw in a boost gauge, and boost controller.

        Found more info.

Subaru Announces Pricing on 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition

Will have the same 305HP Engine from the others. I imagine it is lighter though so will be a bit faster.

I am glad they're putting a better suspension on the STI's. I would get one for sure, but no money :(

Wouldn't say its a kids car. Its just a car for whoever wants it. Here in Maryland, i have seen crazy shit. I have seen people over 40 drive Acura RSX Type S, Honda Civic SI, Lancer EVO, STI, and especially the 370Z for some odd reason.

bleh... its expensive. I don't know people can do it.

The only realistic thing my parents would buy me would be a used SRT-4 for like 12-13K, even thats pushing it.

Fuckin back in highschool, mommy and daddy buying them hod rides and what not. Just seems like a waste

I don't work during the semester, I am a full time student. I have loans. How do i pay for my own stuff?

Using my loan money to buy my own shit gets expensive after a while, and that doesn't last forever
