So I just watched UP.

I have always heard great things about this movie, never got around to watching it. Finally watched it today.

I have to say, I didn't think it was as great as everyone says. I mean I get the message and the first 30 minutes of the movie was great. But once they land in south America the movie is just a bunch of shit IMO, just a bunch of filler. The bird, the dogs with talking collars etc.. just stupid IMO.

The last 15 minutes got good again but wasn't enough to save it for me. To sum it up, great first 30 minutes and good last 15 minutes and nothing in between.

I feel like they could have done so much more with the floating house during the movie and instead they drag the fucking thing around in a boring jungle. Just didnt live up to the "magic" of floating around in a house like I thought it would. :noo:

Up=I felt higher from all the hot air the movie was blowing. I stopped it when he was in the jungle, my movie was also skipping, so I also stopped due to technical issues. Wasn't impressed like all the critics.

I watched the Discovery Everest series DVD the other day based on some messages on another board I frequent. Damn, those Sherpas are studs. They were hauling around these 100 lb cameras at 20,000 feet plus like it was nothing. And then I went out and watched some land whales huffing and puffing from the all you can eat buffet to their car parked outside. It was not a pretty sight.

The human race has no hope the way it is going if the so-called developed world continues to be what everyone aspires to be.
