  • Avatar 3D IMAX

So who has seen Avatar? Who has seen a 3D Imax movie?

I dont know if my expectations were to high from hearing all the hype but as a movie I would say it was ok. Has its good parts but its way to long and take to much time getting started.

Now for this 3D Imax crap. I am sorry but this shit is just terrible. I have heard so many people say "it feels like you are right in the action." i am sorry but at no point did i feel like that. there were a few neat parts but for the most part i was very underwhelmed. it just gets in the way most of the time.

For the movie itself i would give it a 7 out of 10

for the "3d imax experience" i would give it a 5 out of 10. the sound was much more impressive then the picture.

    I agree.

    All hype and bullshit.

The 3D looks just like the other digital 3D movies that have been out the last few years. It has depth, like an old ViewMaster reel, but nothing really new.

    Movie was pure shit.

every review I've read says its great special effects and average story..

...so I'm SHOCKED you expected anything else, kinda thing you have to see at the pictures if it to have any chance I suppose

I haven't seen the movie, but I have seen a few 3D Imax and every time I felt the same as you. It's more of a nuisance than enhancement. I was actually thinking of trying it again, but not now.

yea man, wtf? i though this 3d imax stuff was supposed to be amazing. hell deca, its not even as good as those old viewmater reels because those things were crystal clear. this 3d imax shit gives you some 3d stuff buts its always sort of "fuzzy" i guess you would call it. its like something is off about it. felt like tossing the glasses on the ground about 20 minutes into the movie.

          lol

I read the same shit, and I personally have never been a fan of any 3D movie, I thought this one might be different, but you just confirmed that I was right about it. I am sure I would want those glasses off after 20 also.

Cameron had to do something wild to guarantee that even if his film was shit he would still get recognition for being a pioneer...blah blah blah. Basically the guy was scared to make a movie and have it bomb, so he went wild and did this 3D live action shit.

I can't stand 3D for a long period of time. I initially get a headache, and than I get another headache when I take them off.

On top of that, its more expensive. I would rather watch it in its regular version and just relax.

I think you have to have certain eyes for 3D. For example some people can't do those magic eye books but some people have no problem like me. I remember when I was younger my parents couldn't stand watching muppets 4d in Disney world yet it was fine for me.:dunno:

I have been to a few 3D movies at the imax and wasnt very impressed. But I did just see the avatar in 3D at the Emagine not sure if its just a local movie place or if you guys know what Im talking about. And it was way better than the imax!! I did like the movie but, it was to long.

seriously ? I hated that movie man - looks fucking awful - like a fucking disney and pixar CGI story for 13 year olds. Different strokes I guess, thought movie sucked massive ball sack.

I refuse to partake in these CGI bullshit flicks. I want more movies like sin city where it's still gritty and he use of CGI is limited.

I don't want to see a film like avatar that reminds me of watching like Over the fence or shrek - something horrific :fight: :fight:
