:clapback: I spent a good time playing with one. For the surfing the net and reading its perfect.

Its very appealing and nice, but for that price i would never buy one. For $100 I would buy one

you guys are so fucking gullible.

      its not innovative or new.

it is simply a blown up iphone with the calling feature taken away.

explain how it is any different then an iphone?

That's exactly what it's for, and what a netbook should be for. Not a mini laptop.

I'm in the same boat. If someone wants to buy me one, by all means. But I won't dish out that for one.

I may get one of these. Or something similar. Google is reportedly working on one.

But it is innovative and new. Show me one company that has produced something remotely similar that works. There have been a couple attempts that have failed. Yes it may be a large iPhone, but on this you can use iWorks, iBooks, upload and edit photos, use it as a second screen for your computer.

          Gullible? No.

A friend of mine who is a Microsoft fanboy (and HATES Apple) is even buying one of these. For what it's to be used for there is nothing out there like it.

Say what you will, but even the iPhone was innovative.

People are even saying the iPad is better then the Kindle as far as books.

Its a glorified itouch. Its nice for carrying around in your house and using it while chilling on your couch without carrying a laptop around and having to worry about plugging it into an outlet. Loading times are much faster than a netbook and laptop. Yea it would be nice if it had a usb port, Memory card readers, etc...

Unfortunately it is expensive, and that is a huge drawback.

If google is making one, I would like to see how that performs compared to the ipad

It's going to run Android and be just like an iPad. Seems google is the only one keeping up with Apple in the cell os department.

the ipad is not, its a copy of the iphone.

whoever says its better then a kindle for books is a dumbass.

kindle is e-ink with no back light just like a book. = you can looks at it for long periods of time.

ipad may be ok for look at a magazine or something like that but you dont want to be reading books on it all day.

People talk about e-ink being better because that is what Amazon has been saying for the past 4 years. Heavy readers are using the ipad and not many people are complaining about it having a back light.

I still like physical books myself, but don't jump into the e-ink bandwagon because of shit you read on the internet. I will take the word of people that actually use both devices and that read a lot of books.

Your "58 inch tv is the same as a "23 right? The fifty inch one is just a bigger one, so you should just go downgrade to a "23 since you will get the same use out of the smaller one.

Also, my netbook was a very highly reviewed Toshiba, it sucked. Screen was terrible resolution, internet was slow, etc etc.

I don't ever go to a site with flash, most of my browsing is done on the touch and I never run into a site that I can't view. I don't play stupid flash games much, and if I want flash then I have a desktop to use.

DNA....A $100 ipad :wack::wack:, lame. I would like to see all the models drop by $100, but it is a great machine, and worth a lot more then a hundred fucking dollars. The screen is beautiful, better then any POS netbook windoze shit.

If google makes a tablet/pad guess what OS it will run...........ANDROID.

These smaller more streamlined OS's are what run great on these devices. I have a desktop to run a full file system oriented OS, something mobile should be basically headache free.

i've read books on an e-ink reader (the sony version of the kindle) and it's a lot easier on the eyes compared to sitting behind an LED lit screen. the only downside is the inability to read at night, where the built-in light on the sony reader comes into play. it's better to have e-ink than an LED light screen because of the eye strain which i've been getting a lot after all these late-night papers.

the ipad itself costs a little over $250 for hardware only. marketing would be much more.

That's what they are gearing towards now. Plus you can turn the backlighting down.
