my wife is a drug and alchohol counselor she deals with people that have mental disorders , topped off with drug habits, the whole ball of fucking wax -- she became one because of what we watched in our families as we grew up --

I respect that bro, but I want you to know that this dude has some pretty serious mental disorders, it's not a cop out but the rate of people who use and have mental issues is staggering, hence massive dual diagnosis facilities for detoxes. That being said, I understand what you are saying, I just hope that you feel the same way about someone whose bipolar, but sober, couldn't handle it and shoots themself. As long as it's not a double standard it's a tough one, but it's your view and I respect that.

That's good with me then bro - see I have no idea where you are coming from, so it's hard for me to take what you said without knowing the context you know? And I agree as far as suicide goes, i got no love for it myself - but I want my friend to make it, that's all. I've been down some pretty fucked up roads myself bro, i think comparing them does no good - it's behind and as you said, I'm wet behind the ears being sober, and as long as I stay sober and you can respect that, then I certainly respect your take on it. Because enabling got me where I was, and now cutting off my life and starting a new is my only hope.

it isn't about me here bro - in that sense - i've been dropping friends like u believe and I'm fine w/you saying what u say bro, i value others opinions - but let me put it this way, say I got 50 ppl around me, 49 drag me down real quick, real hard - 1 of them is a mess but he's relatively harmless, shit maybe can actually help the dude - well if I turn my back on someone like this (in this case a brother I grew up and we went thru shit that I won't repeat on the board) then who does he have ? He made a horribly selfish choice, well fuck I would do that 8-10 times a day at peak use and you know wht - people told me stop being a fuckking moron, which is what I will tell him. I'm not trying to be all soft and he needs this and that, he needs a boot in his ass, and I will gladly apply for that job.
