  • Power in a relationship

I have come to this conclusion. there are two people in a relationship, the Alpha and the Betas. The Alpha wants the Beta, the Beta NEEDS the Alpha. The Alpha sees the Beta when he has time. The Beta drops everything to see the Alpha. The Alpha seems not to care sometimes, but yet other times shows flsahes. The Beta smothers the Alpha. The Alpha shrugs off things Beta says. The Beta takes every word from the Alpha to heart.

This is in response to a couple of threads. The one who needs the other loses this battle. Myself personally, due to some things in my past, I am unable to get attached. I come off as cold. The girls I tend to date are driven crazy by my apathy. ITs not that I don't care. I just do wantg to waste my energy on caring. The need something from me, where I just want something from them. It gives me power, which honestly gets me off.

The above is from my experience. If anyone has any opinions on the veracity or anything else, let me know.

Well I can say that DBJ and I are both Alpha's. We both have very dominant personalities. Surprisingly this hasn't been in an issue. We somehow find a mutual gap in between each other.

If it works for you, and makes you both happy, that is great. I was brought up to look at everything as a competition. There is always a winner and a loser. If I date another Alpha, it becomes a battle of wills. And its one I refuse to lose

i think it's not that we're both alpha per se but it's just that we switch back and forth. no one is the alpha role consistently. take that as you wish.

I'm with you once again alwaysgrowing - and I treat my gf's well - but if certain lines get crossed I have no problem walking away, I've never had the experience where getting dumped was a big deal to me. I honestly just keep going. And every girl that dumped me was def an alpha - but get the right beta and I'll keep her happy all day n night.

Exactly. The movie Heat said it best. Don't let yourself get attached to anything that you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds when you feel the heat. If the girl I am with won't or can't keep my happy, I'll walk away
